Little Peterson: 37 Weeks

June.27.2015 37 Weeks
Last Friday my Sister-in-law, Marites (we call her Teng) & my Mom-in-law, Julie threw me an awesome shower in Vernal where most of mine & Brady's family live. Everyone was VERY generous & I got lots of cute things. Julie even made everything dairy-free so I could eat it!!
Teng did a great job decorating!

I have some wonderful family. They spoiled me like crazy!
We had a really good turn out! Thanks to everyone who came & hung out with me!
Here are a few of my nieces, Emmy has the crazy blonde hair, Kalina is in grey, & her sister Lily is in the pink. These girls are my buddies, I just love em to pieces! We played a few games like guess how many candies were in this gigantic bottle...Lily won, that's why we are laughing so hard. She wanted to win that big bottle SO BADLY. We also played baby bingo which was fun too!
Since there are a million photos of me opening gifts I'll spare you all my ridiculous facial expressions & just flash a few. This bag was full of SUPER cute clothes from my mom in law & her daughters. Those sandals I'm holding are the cutest things I've ever seen. Brady & I have some just like it! We're going to be triple twinning when this boy gets here.

This awesome playard is from my mom...Even though she already bought me a stroller with a car seat & threw me a shower...Mom, you spoil me. When we got back home Brady & I set it up. It's just as cool or cooler than it looks. Yard work with a kid is going to be a breeze!
Me & my bestie Rose. She is the best!
My mom looking beautiful as always!
My sis & I. Also looking beautiful
 The girlies & I
 This is my mother-in-law & sister-in-law
 My belly is looking gigantic.

The shower was awesome! I definitely feel more prepared & ready to have this kid. Thanks a ton to my sis who took pictures for me!!

We also came to Vernal for the Peterson Family Reunion. B & I haven't been able to go for the last 3 years because we're normally out doing summer sales. After the shower we all loaded up & headed for the family cabin for dinner & hanging out. There is a little river that flows right behind the cabin & everyone swam while we waited for dinner to cook. Brady has a really big family & it's always a fun time with them! Saturday's reunion schedule was to go to the lake to swim & go boating. I love boating. I was a little bummed that I couldn't wakeboard but I'm sure I'll get my chance before the summer is over! During the weekend Brady was playing in the Vernal All-nighter. It's a mens softball tournament. After the lake he had a game then we went to have dinner at his grandmas house. They played really well & ended up taking 2nd place overall. He had to play all night on Saturday! He was pretty exhausted by the time they ended after their last game at 9am Sunday morning.

I was a crappy person & forgot to take any pictures the whole time. Seriously, that's pathetic. Sunday morning we rushed back to home for my cousin's farewell talk. He did a great job. I'm very proud of him for his decision to serve a mission. He is going to Washington DC & teaching the gospel in ASL, which is awesome because he is deaf but doesn't know ASL because he has a cochlear implant & was taught to speak instead of sign.

Brady & I spent the rest of the day trying to catch up on our rest. It was nice to relax, I never let myself sit down. I always find lots to do unless I'm at seven peaks basking in the sun. Monday we had a Dr. appointment. It started out with a fluid check & NST (non-stress test). The babe & I passed with flying colors. Luckily my fluid is just fine. The nurse said the baby was probably in a bad position last time they checked. Then we had our regular appointment. I'm dilated to a 1cm & I got to schedule my induction date for the 11th of July!!!! YAY!

Next Monday, at our next appointment they'll do another fluid check & NST before my appointment again. Then if I haven't progressed anymore they will just have me come back Thursday to check again & from that point I'll stop my blood thinners so I can pop this baby out on Saturday!! We are both REALLY excited. I can't wait to lay my eyes on our little guy. I'm crossing my fingers & working out really hard to make my body be ready sooner hehe. If i've progressed more by my appointment Monday they will have to schedule me for earlier...wish me luck!!

STATS TO DATE

Total weight gain: This weekend I really packed it on....I gained 2 more pounds #fattystatus
Maternity Clothes? NEVER!
Stretch Marks? Nope :)
Sleep: Not the best. I'm getting about 6 hours a night & waking up early. Our house is hotter than Death Valley inside so falling asleep is rough when you're drenched in sweat.
Miss Anything? wake boarding & laying on my back & stomach to tan! The back of my legs are more that a few shades lighter than the fronts.
Movement: Yes, especially at night. I lay down & the party starts. & when I say party, I mean like a UFC fight going on inside my guts.
Food Cravings: No, except this weekend I did want some protein. We weren't home & I couldn't eat most of the stuff that was served at the reunion so I ended up filling my stomach with chips & anything I could eat without dairy.
Gender: still a boy (weird right....hehe)
Labor Signs: besides the normal psychotic amount of Braxton Hicks, I've been cramping a lot especially later in the day or in the morning. The last few days my back has been on hurting the second half of the day. Both are good things & signs my body is getting ready so...Body, BRING IT ON!
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Ring On or Off? On
Happy or Moody? I'm the nicest girl in the world. Unless it was last Thursday & 1/2 of Friday & your name is Brady...
Looking Forward To? The 4th of July this weekend. We are SUPPOSED to go boating at one of the lakes out here then we are for sure going to the Bees game (baseball) later that night & watching the fireworks they do at the game. My brother & sister-in-law that live right next to us are blessing their baby this Sunday so we will have another busy weekend. I told you, the busyness never ends.

Little Peterson: 36 Weeks

June.19.2015 36 weeks
Over the weekend I was able to go to Vernal & help with a yard sale at my parents' house. I had a fetal growth ultrasound on Monday (6/22/15). Jax has a small skinny head like his mom, it's only measuring 32 weeks...the ultrasound tech said that wasn't even on the chart HA. His body is measuring 36w5d, & his legs are measuring 37w3d. There is nothing wrong with long legs (except they are always stuck up in my ribs)! The tech had a really hard time finding fluid though, she only found one pocket & it was mostly full of umbilical cord! I didn't see the doctor to go over the results until Tuesday (6/23/15) so I was pretty nervous because that can be a big deal.

After the ultrasound appointment Brady & I celebrated Father's Day like a boss & went shopping. Brady got a new pair of shoes for work, swim trunks, & another white shirt for church. Poor guy goes through them like toilet paper. Yellow pits for days! I got a couple pair of sandals, a skirt. We also grabbed some material to make an infinity scarf nursing cover, & a DIY Moby baby wrap. I'm excited for Brady to sew them up for me...I have ZERO sewing skills. I can in fact sew a straight line, but I can't thread the machine so I haven't made them yet. #wifefail

The next day at my appointment when I brought up the ultrasound the Dr. said it wasn't a big deal. He also said I didn't have to switch blood thinners THANK GOODNESS!  I was NOT looking forward to giving myself THREE shots instead of 2. He said that 48 hours before my induction date I will stop taking the medicine, go in, have the baby, then get back on the medicine for 6 more weeks. I had to do my StrepB test & they checked me for the first time. I'm not dilated yet but his head is down (it's been down almost the entire time) & so hopefully he drops soon!..My wishful thinking.

When I left I was still a little nervous about the low levels of fluid so I called thinnest day & asked for a second opinion. The other Dr. that looked at the results said she wanted me to come in to have another ultrasound at my appointment next week to check again, then do a NST (non-stress test) where the nurse hooks you up to a machine to monitor the baby's heart rate for 20 minutes to see if he's under any stress. I was grateful that I had someone re-check. Even if they had given me the same answer, peace of mind would be there.

This weekend is my Vernal baby shower that my mom-in-law is throwing for me. I'm excited! Showers are so much fun & both our families are VERY giving! I love having everyone together too.

STATS TO DATE

Total weight gain: I've hit 10 lbs
Maternity Clothes? still fitting into my pants, they aren't comfy so I mostly wear flowy pants or capri leggings because I don't have any shorts & it's flipping HOT outside.
Stretch Marks? Nothing on the belly
Sleep: Eh, enough. I get really tired & I've taken a few naps. My body wakes up too early
Miss Anything? I miss being able to cross my legs, & sit up straight. I especially miss going to the movies, it's too uncomfortable lately.
Movement: Always. Since the ultrasound I'm trying to keep better track of his movement. He definitly thinks bedtime is playtime though.
Food Cravings: Not really. My mom fed me too good over the weekend & I finally made a little bit of a gain.
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks rule my life still. It's getting really hard to finish Turbo class. I think the last 20 minutes of class was a constant contraction. Ouch!
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Ring On or Off? On
Happy or Moody? Happy mostly
Looking Forward To? My baby shower this weekend, Brady's overnight softball tournament, as well as the Peterson family reunion (We are going boating!!), my cousin's farewell on Sunday, & my Dr. apt on Monday. Ya, we're busy people.

Yard Sale

This weekend we decided to have a yard sale! We'd been wanting to have one for awhile but everyone's schedules (ok...MY schedule) make it a tad difficult to find free time. This weekend cleared up because my Vernal baby shower was pushed back to next weekend so it was the perfect time! I dug through my crap & even organized my dungeon (basement) to gather everything that could be sold! I filled up my entire car & couldn't even fit the furniture I wanted to sell, which was 2 end tables & a TV.

When I arrived in Vernal I was dying for a Sno Biz shaved ice. Ooh shaved ice is my fave! So Ty & I headed over to the little stand in the middle of town & indulged ourselfs in a big cup of sugar flavored ice! I'm stuck on a combo of pineapple, coconut, & lime right now. I get it EVERY TIME.

That evening we got everything ready for the next morning. We woke up bright & early, got our signs up, stuff out, & we were ready to go!
My mom even set up her bow stand that her & Rachel ran at the farmers market last year!
We had lots of fun hanging out & talking with people who came by. We of course had fun playing with Rose. She is always the center of attention. I love that girl!!
All 3 of us (my mom, Rachel, & I) put things into the yard sale. We kept track of whose items sold so we could divy the funds up in the end.
Last year I had a huge yard sale at home & in Vernal. My mom & sis put a few things in that one too. I made over $350 just with my stuff in those two yard sales so my "stuff" supply was very limited this time.
We all managed to make almost the exact same amount of about $100 each!! I'm happy with that, especially since we have a baby coming soon & I'm not going to be working! Every drop counts & diapers are NOT cheap. Sheesh!
Col, Ty, & I HAD to hit up Sno Biz one more time. It's so hot & dry here that it's sucking the life out of me & my built in parasite is making me a living furnace the last weekish so eating a frozen treat is a MUST!
I was going to head back home after the yard sale on Saturday but my cars break lights are out & I had to stay so that the body shop could order my part. It gets here tomorrow morning & then I'll be off back to my hubbs!!

Today is also Father's Day & I felt pretty lucky that I got to spend it with my dad. B & I got him a card that looked like a popcorn bucket & said something funny about being the best "pop". We included a couple movie tickets to go with it too!! He LOVED it & everyone else's gifts & cards! I'm so grateful for my dad. I know everyone says their dad is the very best & I'm no different. He is a great example to me in so many ways. He is hard working, I've literally never seen someone work as hard as he does. He is a strong member of the church. He is super cute with Rose & I can't wait to see him with Jax!! He's an awesome grandpa!! I love you dad! Thanks for everything!

My girl Rose & I also had a photo shoot/dance party this morning while I was doing her hair. She is my favorite & I can & will never get enough of her. I can't wait till Jax gets here & she can kiss him as much as she kisses my belly!
We ended the day with a good game of Risk (Father's choice). It's my dad's favorite game & he usually smokes the pants off of everyone...except today. He smoked the pants off of me & then was the next person to loose!
I gave Ty a little too knot & got some evidence (& even a little smirk) so I have to document this gargantuan piece of treasure.

Happy Father's Day to all you father's out there! I hope you're day was fantastic.

Typography Design Series: Handouts

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (AKA: LDS), a few weeks ago I was put into the Releif Society presidency as the secretary. One of my secretarial duties is to make flyers. It's times like these when it's reiterated into my brain that the Lord knows what he is doing when he gives promptings for callings. I LOVE MY CALLING. For me, I'd love to do this crap all day! Having a reason to make little hand-outs, flyers, newsletters, etc...only makes me a happier person.

This was my most recent hand-out. Since the church only has a B&W printer I couldn't add any color, but no problemo! There is nothing wrong with a little B&W!
These next two I designed from a pinterest idea (of course, right??) for birthday handouts for the sisters in the ward. We glued a chapstick to "you're the balm" & tied a little whisk to the "whisking you the very best of birthdays" one.

Last week was our June activity. The sisters did Christmas in June & made little ornaments that had a picture on one side & a chalk paint on the other! I couldn't attend this time because the hubbs & I were in our Prenatal class, not to be confused with Birthing Class. We don't do breathing techniques, it's just information about everything that will go on at the hospital, signs of labor, signs of problems, when to call your doctor, & lots more! I really enjoyed the first part & I'm excited for the second part tomorrow! Another plus is that the nurse who teaches the class was my overnight nurse when I was in the hospital for my blood clot. THE. SWEETEST. WOMAN. ALIVE. I'm begging the doc to induce me on a day she is working hehe! I have a good chance, they like me!

Typography Design Series: Invitations

I LOVE throwing parties. I love having friends over to hang out & have a good time, so I try to throw at least a few parties every year. BBQ's don't count...we have one of those about every week during the summer!! ahhhh BBQ's

When my sister was close to bursting I decided I needed to throw her a baby shower so I whipped up this invite with one of the photos I'd taken of her maternity shoot. The party was a hit & Rach received LOTS of great gifts!!
I recently had a shower that I designed this little invitation for. I thought it was pretty fun & summery. I loved my shower that my mom & sister threw for me!! Thanks, you beautiful ladies!

When my husband & I found out we were having a rambunctious little boy we HAD to throw a reveal party, because what's the fun in just telling everyone.....yup, none. We had a great turn out & served cupcakes & had all the guests bite into them at the same time to reveal the BLUE FROSTING on the inside! THAT was a great day.

Brady & I are known (I might be making this up) for our awesome Halloween Parties. Seriously, we are so cool. We play LOTS of games, have a donut eating contest, pig out on waaaaaay too much sugar, have a photo booth, & every looks rad in their costumes. We've had the party every year since we've been married (but I could only find 2 of my invitations).

Back to my girl Rose....When this princess turned 1 I was more than willing to make her birthday invitations. It was fun watching her try to open her presents & even more funny when she freaked out eating her cake.

THE SUPER BOWL, another party we have had annually since B & I have been married (again I could only find 2..lame!) I don't ever care about the football, I'm only there for the food & friends...& because I'm the host. I only wish we had a giant party room & bigger TV (65 inches is not enough apparently)...dream house goals.

Typography Design Series: Cards||Announcements

There has been many occasions where I've designed cards, or announcements for family members.
Every year I make my (& my sister's this last year's) Christmas cards. If you're family You'll most likely recognize all of these!

This year we had a pretty big announcement to dish out, so I created these to go on social media, or in holiday cards.

When my little niece Rosalie was born I was the first to volunteer my services (without being asked actually hehe) to make her birth announcement. I took all her newborn pictures as well. She is my best little buddy & I hope it stays that way forever!!
My cute sister-in-law Ali graduated last year & I also was able to photograph her for senior pictures & design her grad announcement.

Last fall I photographed some of our friends & created a little card for them as well!
