Back to the thrift store

Alright so I'm a little obsessed with goodwill...but I'm cheap & I'm sure my husband appreciates it. I found a couple cute church outfits on my last drop in at the local Goodwill. Here they be!

Outfit #1
Express button up - $3
Pleated calve length skirt w/ the cutest pattern ever- $3
Embarrassing that these are in my bathroom but what the hay I live in an apartment for the summer & I can only bring what I can fit in my car so full-body mirror is too much..
Outfit #2
New York brand collared shirt $3
Leopard print pencil skirt (even found it in my size, lucky day!!) $3
Statement necklace- rue 21 $3
Goodwill can do no wrong people. Just saying....

The 5-star Lounge

Has anyone ever been to a 5-Star Lounge at a movie theater? Well, I had my first experience in one Saturday night. Brady got home a little early from work so we decided to go see Man of Steel. When we got there the only showing was in a 5-Star,  21+, Lounge so we bought the tickets. $16 a piece!! Woe, seriously?? I could buy the movie (blu-ray combo pack + digital download+ dinner while we watch it) for less than the 2 tickets we purchased. Sheesh. We were ushered in by a real usher & shown out assigned seats.
The usher showed us how to work our seats. Which reclined...
And my most favorite part...they were heated!!
I'm always so cold in movies, this sold me.
To top off the 5 Star experience, we were shown menus with loads of incredibly over priced, greasy (probably really gross) theater food...that lit up
There was no way on earth I was paying $5.50 for a drink so it's a good thing we always stock my purse before a movie ;).
A few minutes later a waitress came around to see if we needed any drinks or food but we declined.

The movie was great! Very beautifully filmed in all the country & flashback scenes. I DID like staying warm throughout the movie, putting my feet up, & not having someone's head blocking half the screen...but...I really think for the price of the tickets that we should have got a complimentary something. I don't think I'd ever go the 5 Star route again but it was fun to do it once!!

Banana Pancakes

This morning I made Brady a healthy sub of his fav breakfast...pancakes. I rarely make them because I'm not a fan & they have milk in which I'm intolerant. So if I DO make him pancakes they are from muffin mixes that I've added extra milk to make the batter a little bit more runny. On Pinterest I've seen many variations of these pancakes but I just made my own variation with the things I had lying around. I used:
2 eggs
1 mashed banana
a handful of quick oats
roughly 1tsp vanilla

Directions: put the handful of quick oats into a magic bullet/blender & grind em up a tad. Then add everything else. I even threw in a couple strawberries to this batch. (Flax seed would be good in here too) then cook the batter like normal pancakes. They turned out flatter than regular pancakes but that was alright with me! Try em out, see what you think!
My hubby loaded his up with Nutella, SF syrup, & sliced strawberries. When he was done he immediately asked for these again!! SUCCESS!!

Bookends

Lately I have been obsessed with GOLD! It's such a beautiful bold color, I just had to have something gold! So I got on Pinterest & found a really cute idea for a bookend! I went to my fav store (goodwill) and picked out a statue.
Then set out some newspaper & got ready to spray. I used Krylon Colormaster spray paint for all surfaces.
Then sprayed away.
Leet it dry
& viola! Perfect bookend!!

Red Robin....yummm

Today was another wife in our offices birthday (Mckensie). She failed to mention anything about it in the time we sit, chatting, for hours at the pool everyday, but Facebook gave her away. the other wives & I decided we needed to do another fun birthday dinner, this time Red Robin was chosen. A few of us girls happen to take a few snaps...
It was a little dark in there but this is when the employees sang to her
Notice anything funny about this picture? Like how Jen, the girl on the far left is cut off?? Well...the very intelligent, incredibly talented, waitress we asked to take our picture must of forgot to look at her subjects when she took this because before editing it looked like this...
I guess Casper & a couple of his friends must have been on the far right side of this...needless to say I enjoyed a long, hard laugh over this.
...and this is the photo I managed to take. Hey, at least I took one!
