Brady went out of town on a pre-season trip for the week after sacrament to Redding, CA. He did Really well & got 7 sales on the week, which is pretty darn good since he hadn't sold since October! Since he had to leave the day of my birthday he spoiled me rotten the two days before. He took me up to Park City to go shopping at the outlets. I got some new nikes, boots & clothes. Then we headed for salt lake where we went & watched the Joseph Smith movie in the Joseph Smith Center on Temple Square. I love that movie. It reminds me of the strong testimony I have for Joseph Smith & all that he gave & sacrificed for the church.
Then we did a little extra shopping at the City Creek Mall...of course :). Later we met up with our good friends Jen & Tyler Ballard for dinner at Tucanos Brazillain Grill. We left overstuffed with meat & salad. Then we followed Jen & Tyler to their house to play some pool & chat for a little while. We had to rush home for Brady to play in his BYU Inturmural Basketball game, which was a dramatic one, as usual. Their team won. They did really well in the tournament & Brady always has fun playing.
The next day Brady took me out to eat at my favorite restaurant: Thai Village. I love thai food not only because it's delicious, but because it's made with coconut milk so I can actually eat it!! Being lactose intolerant & finding things to eat at restaurants is HARD. Restaurants grill chicken in butter & put butter on veggies sometimes, so even those aren't safe!! It drives me crazy. We got all my favorite dishes & thoroughly enjoyed each other's company.
Sunday morning we went to church & Brady headed off on his trip. Since it was my birthday I didn't want to spend it alone so I invited Rach, Chanse, (Rose of course) Kaden & Haley over for dinner to celebrate with me!! I love to decorate, so I set up my big table in my kitchen so cute for my little party! It was an asain style dinner with my experimental Tom Ka Gai soup. I made rice & edemame. Kaden & Haley made Pot Stickers (my FAVORITE) & Rach made chicken stir fry. Everything was so delicious.
Later we had ice cream cake. I know what you're thinking..."woe, this girl just said she was lactose-intolerant", BUT it was a dairy free ice cream cake :) & holy cow was it delicious! I made it with layers of birthday cake & Rice Krispie Oreos, marshmallow cream, chocolate almond dream ice cream, & coconut flavored coconut dream ice cream. Yes, it was rich & yes it was as good as it sounds/looks.
